2019 eBay Seller Advocacy Day
Posted by Vivian Vassar on 14th Jun 2019
I was recently invited to attend the 14th Annual eBay Seller Advocacy Day in Washington DC. When I arrived I met with eBay sellers and staff and attended briefing meetings to discuss small business issues. We talked about our experiences as business owners and our priorities for business growth. The internet sales tax issue, changes in the postal system, and international trade were discussed since they are key to our continued success as an eCommerce company.
We broke up into smaller groups. My group went to the offices of Senators Ted Cruz, Kirsten Gillibrand, Rick Scott, and Marco Rubio and Congressmen Max Rose, Rick Scott, and Kenny Marchant among others. In each office, after introductions, we discussed the issues that affect our online businesses.
This experience made me realize that a lot of work in Washington gets done through meeting, conversation, and finding a common ground. I am grateful to eBay Main Street for including me in this wonderful opportunity and trip.
