Enjoying the Last Days of Summer

Posted by Vivian Vassar on 9th Aug 2018

As we head into the last days of summer we're still wearing our sleeveless, lightest clothing and trying to keep cool. One way we always stayed cool growing up was with a drink called the "Arnold Palmer".  It's a mix of iced tea and lemonade that my mom made with a pot of strong black tea left to steep and a can of frozen lemonade with one can of water.  Chilled and served over ice it's what we drank every summer that I can remember.

There's some variations on this classic  including adding mint (my favorite) and using ice tea mix.  But here's what the man himself had to say about it.    "The basic Arnold Palmer recipe contains two main ingredients: iced tea and lemonade. It is widely believed that the two are mixed in equal parts, but in a recent ESPN video the real Arnie Palmer himself set the record straight, clarifying that the drink as he invented it contains 3 parts iced tea to 1 part lemonade."

Thank you to Tablespoon.com for that information
