Inspired by Vintage Pictures of My Parents

I recently came across this photograph of my Mom and Dad taken right as they were married and on their way to Colorado  for my Dad to attend college on the GI Bill.  It's late December 1950 and my Dad is pulling up his pants leg  to show off the pair of argyle socks my Mom knit for him.  It was the first (and only) pair she ever knit.  He said it was like walking on waffles.  He wore them like a champ though and never complained.  My Dad always dressed sharp.

I love the way my Mom is wearing her glossy blue scarf tied under her chin.  It's a classy look for winter when you need the warmth but don't want to mess with a wool hat. I think I'll borrow that look this winter :)
