How to Turn a Shawl into a Shrug

Posted by Vivian Vassar on 8th Feb 2022

Let's take a look at the Hey Viv !  Shawl that turns into a Shrug.  The buttons on the sides allow you to button it in the front as a shawl or you can button it as sleeves to wear it as a shrug.  Soft, warm, comfortable - it's perfect for layering.

"A shrug is a cropped, cardigan-like garment with short or long sleeves cut in one with the body, typically knitted.

Generally, a shrug covers less of the body than a vest would, but it is more tailored than a shawl.

Shrugs are typically worn as the outermost layer of an outfit, with a full shirt, tank top, or dress beneath." *

Typically shrugs only cover the arms, shoulders and the upper part of the back. Wear one when you need a coverup but don't want a full or structured jacket. The advantage of a shawl or shrug is that you can still see your dress or outfit. They are usually light weight, easy to put on or take off, and can be carried and put it back on as needed.
